I think some may be doing a juice cleanse from being chronically online. Probably a smart plan after the shit show nightmare sequel got greenlighted.

 

I have been following the news somewhat, but am trying to turn the outrage meter down a bit — at least until Inauguration Day.

Trying to enjoy football and live rock music [/crossthread] a bit more while Uncle Joe is still at the helm.

I've posted less on this thread for certain since the election. The fix is in for at least the next two years without a GD thing we can do about it.

I just hope the lower courts can delay (delay delay) the nasty shit that's coming. In the meantime, we'll just see how much backbone the Senate Pubes have regarding Gaetz, RFKJ et al. Right now my hopes are up, but we'll find out.

My hope is they'll calculate Stinky will be dead in less than 4 years and JDV will be left as a feckless figurehead at the end of 2028, so they'll finally bow their necks a little.

This is it, exactly. There is nothing, but nothing, we can do. So, we're going to become resigned to it all, no matter how much we've been railing against it. We will accept it, because we have no choice now. We made our choice.

We just get to watch the place burn down, see Trump be the dictator he wants to be, and destroy the government, our infrastructure and our world reputation, with no one to stop him.

I'm getting to the point that I almost want something really bad to happen in order to wake this freaking country up.

People literally do not care that they elected a criminal deviant who already tried to overthrow the government, and who has now nominated a team of more criminal deviants to run things, and who will get away with everything, and do whatever he wants, claiming Presidential immunity that the corrupt Supreme Court has given him, while threatening and laughing at everyone else along the way.

I don't even know what that really bad thing might be that could happen that might make people wish they had not elected this guy. It's stunningly sickening. We live in a stupid country.

 

Oh, those bad things will happen soon enough. But what the newly regretful will most resent is whoever says "told you so." They memory holed a plague so they could vote for Trump this time.

 

When bad things happen, they will find someone else to blame.

In a FB group about restaurants in the area where I grew up, someone posted lamenting about the high cost of breakfast at a diner. And of course a MAGA posted that it will all get better in January. Of course we know it won’t, but this guy is sure it will. So what happens when prices don’t magically come down? Who is this guy going to blame? He’ll still blame the libs. He’ll be blind to the truth. Maybe in the recesses of whatever heart he might have he’ll know, but he’ll never admit he was wrong.
