Another bloodletting at Cumulus stations in the Bay area this week. Most notable cut for this board, former NBA player Tom Tolbert off the payroll after 28 years on KNBR's afternoon show.

Blows my mind that KNBR is in such a tailspin. Apparently running behind the station that carries the Warriors now. Tolbert had to know his time was short after they broke up the morning team and seem to be burning the furniture to keep the lights on. The flagship station of the Giants and 49ers can't make it work. Mystifying.

I had a chance to work at the Post Office in college. No, you’re in college to get a journalism degree. The Post Office is a dead-end job. If I had done the PO, I could have retired by now and started a second career.

Rokski wasn’t too bad with his assessments.

Really? What are plans for 560? AI versions of Jim Lange and Jazzbo Collins would be awesome.

Mike the Mailman, the post office clerk who was a minor celebrity in State College, is now retired and a panelist each week on a TV show about Penn State football. He's even doing a spot! (Presumably a trade.) He was the smartest guy in the room.

Le Batard has some channel that shows up on Samsung TV. I don't know where else to listen to him. He has about 8 people on the show. I don't know how he makes any money paying all these people on a podcast budget.

LeBatard is the co-founder/owner of Meadowlark Media, which has a bunch of podcasts and produces programming for Netflix, AppleTV, Peacock, Amazon, and a host of others. It's not exactly a podcast budget.

Le Betard doesn't show up on Netflix and his Amazon show is on Max. I don't know how any of that pays for his project.

He has eight people on his show. I've never heard a radio show of any type have that many people. I kind of like him, but he is delusional if his strategy is Samsung TV and Max.

Again, he co-founded and co-owns the company. They create a lot of programming for different outlets. That Red Sox documentary on Netflix was theirs.

Their deal with DraftKings alone was $50 million over three years.

I don't think they are sweating the staffing of his podcast.
