OK, great. But it's going to be a really boring 12-team playoff with only three teams that fit your parameters.
This is a weird year. Everybody except the top end of the Big Ten has cannibalized each other.

We've been bitching about having a true playoff for decades and now that we finally have one people are complaining because two-loss teams might get in it (as they always would with a 12-team bracket). Just enjoy it, for God's sake.

Tulane's losses are Kansas State & Oklahoma. The Green Wave couldn't catch Boise without a loss, but if both teams have two losses, it might be a discussion.

B12 and ACC are one-bid conferences as it's currently set up. Notre Dame gets their at large. B10 and SEC get their four-piece in and they move forward.

I don’t think Arizona State would be left out, but they might get passed by Boise State for the No. 4 seed.

This does beg the question: How long before a Power-4 conference champion is excluded from a 12-team field?

And the follow up question: Once a Power 4 Champion misses the field, how long until the G5 slot gets deleted?

Great question, but I think there would be presidents of the have-nots on Capitol Hill the next day. Not worth the effort to exclude them.

I choose to defer my comments until the actual pairings are announced. THEN I will declare the whole process to be a travesty. Wouldn't want to jump the gun.

I’m still wondering how holding first-round games in on-campus stadiums will work on the weekend before Christmas.

Not that ESPN cares about the fan experience or logistics — as long as they can get TV eyeballs. But it could be rough to pull those games off for the home teams.

Unscientific poll from my talking to a few PSU ticket holders, they're "screw the holiday, this is what matters" mode, and have been asked by friends how to grab tix. A question is if the students stick around after exams.

Even with two weeks in the regular season to go, if you just went by record, the last team in the bracket would have 2 losses because there’s only 11 undefeated/1-loss teams

Apologies if this has been answered before… do first round losers head to a bowl game or is their season over? I assume it’s over but can’t find an answer.

If that’s the case, probably will be a few 5-7 teams in bowl games. Yay.
