    Aaaaaaannnnnd, they're back....

Fairfax County judge allows them back in. All 6A Region C games -- including Littlest t_b_f's -- cancelled tonight, and they'll play Tuesday night. We actually got screwed on this one. Instead of a fairly easy win tonight, we'll get hammered Tuesday by a team that already beat us by 30.

    Yup absolutely ridiculous.

The rest of 6A should forfeit and have their own totally-not-the-state-tournament.

No Cardinal Ritter, but odd enough.

That's not the same Banning that's 50 miles the other side of San Berdoo, is it?

Nobody in high school football is an "athlete." Everybody plays some position. Find out what it is.

In Mississippi's private school association this season, there was a Class 1A eight-man team that plucked a few players from several area schools and formed something of a superteam. One of their linemen committed to Ole Miss, so you can imagine what they were doing to people at that level. One of our local schools played them early and, IIRC, the superteam had one second down on offense in the first three quarters.
Anyway, this team was steamrolling everybody and pissing people off. From what I understand, superteam's coach is not very popular and not just for that reason. So after they beat one of the teams they'd recruited a player from, about halfway through the season, the opposing coach was about to report them to the association. One of the other coaches in their district told him to wait.
Aggrieved Coach A did, until the last week of the season — the logic being that if he'd reported him in Week 5 or whatever, the superteam would forfeit the games it had played but could still easily make the playoffs at 5-5, beat the brakes off whoever they played, and cruise to a state championship. By waiting until Week 10, it turned superteam's 10-0 record into 0-10 and kept them out of the playoffs.
Thought that move was pretty gangster by Aggrieved Coach A.

No, that's Banning High School in Wilmington.

The Banning you are thinking of is 35 miles southeast of San Berdoo, near San Gorgonio Pass and about halfway between San Berdoo and Palm Springs.
