We can learn. You have a perspective -- probably more informed and nuanced-- that most of us don't have with regard to the military. Yet, I think we all respect the military (and you) enough to want to hear what you'd have to say about something that's so potentially, maybe even, seemingly, wrong. And we like informed, nuanced thoughts around here.

But I know that, sometimes, people just don't want to get into things, so it's up to you. It might start a great discussion, though, so it's our loss.

I'm also surprised at the relative lack of uproar over Sebastian Gorka's National Security Council/Counter-terrorism nomination. But I guess this is where we're at. People are already so freaking tired of having to watch over and fight over every little thing our corrupt soon-to-be President does that they can't/don't want to keep up with it. We're going to be in trouble more because of that than anything else, probably.

If all somehow goes right, Fucko's insane picks (and policy blunders) will continue to generate pushback even from the Repugs, blocking some of his picks or driving them to withdraw. That, in turn, will enrage Fucko so much that he'll turn his venom on his own party, creating an ever-growing rift that finally churns into open warfare between the White House and Congress, and the Republican Party will tear itself apart and take Fucko down with it.

It's either that or the Fourth Reich. It's obvious that Fucko wants to collapse the government by throwing all our institutions into chaos, and will Congress finally wake up and realize that means Congress, too? They like their fat-cat jobs, as I recall.

Anyway, a boy can dream. ... And it would be a lot more fun to watch than a Fascist loose in the Oval Office.

 

All I know is that there are much healthier routes to go than to shed crocodile tears over every Trump Cabinet selection.

Of course, that's the case with most of the concern in this thread. It's going to happen whether we like it or not. So we're just telling each other what's bad when everyone knows what's bad.

I want to crawl in a hole. Gee, let's have a country we're all fortunate and privileged to live in, where things are, pretty much, good for most of us, with very little, REALLY, to complain about, and let's turn it into a country with the worst of the worst leading it, where everything is as grim, angry and hate-filled as possible, because Trump truly is doing a hostile takeover, and encouraging it to expand. He doesn't love this country, he doesn't care about any of us, it's all about him -- me, me, me -- and what he wants, which has nothing to do with anything that would make America great again.
