I agree — keep it DST year round. Schools without air conditioning often go with a short day for the first few weeks in August and September. Winter is the other side of the coin, just on the front end instead of the back end.

Up north it's still dark-thirty at the bus stop. Southern schools can adjust to it too.

Holy freakin mother of megatron... is it summer yet? I've been outside fishing most of the morning. It's lunchtime and still only 44 degrees.

If you came here to complain about the lack of Daylight Saving Time, I'd like to cordially invite you to have some cheese to go with your whine.

Yeah, I'd like some wine and cheese because it's FREAKIN DARK at 5:30.
    Bring on Dec. 21.
It's funny because I get up every morning at 4:30. Doesn't matter if it's July or January, I'm out the door by 5. I'm an outdoorsman and am one with the weather.
But holy freakin geez dark by supper time sukz!

Look at it this way. We're still a few weeks away from solstice, but the sunset time bottoms out as early as next week depending on where you are. For most of the Southern U.S. (south of, say, Nashville), the earliest sunset time will be around Dec. 5 and then it starts creeping back up from there.

Yeah, this is the tough stretch regarding daylight, Thanksgiving to MLK Or even Groundhog Day. I agree. It sucks.

On the flip side, 40s, dark and little wind make for fantastic drinking weather.

It’s going to be 14 degrees tonight with a windchill of five and it’s not yet December. It’s going to be a long winter.

We got a nice day for the football playoffs today. The game sucked, though.
