Please allow me to interject my feelings about Mother Nature

Wave expected to hit San Francisco around 12:10 Pacific.

 

The warning zone ends about 10-15 miles away from me and everyone there is evacuating. I see the City of Santa Cruz has closed all beaches.

 

Isn't the San Francisco peninsula only like 6 or 7 miles wide?

 

Quite the time for a layover/flight change at the Oakland airport … although I don’t think there are any warnings for here.

Glad to see that. Now if only they could cancel the delay on my flight …

 

We got the warnings at the school and I’m northwest of Santa Cruz with a mountain range in the way. The kids were not interested in what I had to say. My wife is in Monterey, but she said no one was paying any attention.

The funniest one was my son’s daycare sent a note to parents that they were watching the situation closely but were operating normally. The massive mountains between the Daycare and the coast plus the 25/30 miles between us and the southern tip of the Bay tells me there was nothing to worry about.

 

A 7 normally doesn’t cause much more than a ripple. You get a really big one like an 8 or a 9, then you can get what happened in Japan in 2011 or the Indian Ocean in 2004.
