I keep waiting for this game to become interesting, but it never does.

For all the crap Nantz gets, which is more for his worldview than anything else, he does an outstanding job of voice modulation. When his tones get louder and higher, the viewer, or the listener who's making dinner in the kitchen, knows something more important is happening. With Fowler and the other CFB play by play guys in the ESPN stable, it means maybe there was a four-yard gain.

It was very fashionable to bash the Bama-LSU “Game of the Century” because the Tigers won 9-6 in overtime. But what that didn’t account for was the incredible tension and intensity and also the sheer amount of talent (there were dozens of players from that game drafted into the NFL).

    This ain’t that. Woof.

Sean McDonough does excellent work for ABC. Brad Nessler is a pro’s pro on CBS.

McDonough is awesome because he speaks the truth. If a game sucks, he’ll say so.

Sean is the pro's pro. You could blindfold him, airlift him to Ulan Bator, and make him broadcast a Mongolian horse sports event, and within five minutes you'd be convinced he was a direct descendant of Genghis Khan when he rips the officials,

I’d be on board with byes for Boise, ASU and tonight’s ACC winner. Nobody is impressed with any of this.

Then you’d have to deny a bye to the SEC or Big Ten champ.
