I don't think RichRod is so much Wren Baker as big boosters who really want RichRod. We'll see if it happens.

I wonder if that would mean Bill Clark to Jax State. His lake house and extended family is close by and JSU is his alma mater. UAB hired him from there. They're in C-USA, so he might not get rich but he'll get paid.

Willie is a good man. This is one of the worst jobs in FBS.

He won every year for the most part. Good coach. Saban disciple. Kids love him. But that fan base sucks. He deserved a better landing spot than Southern Miss, but that place has only one-way to go, so a similar run to what he had at Marshall would be greeted warmly

He has ONE winning season in six years and I have a sneaking suspicion that McKenzie Milton had a lot more to do with that one great season than Scott Frost the coach
...especially considering Milton won out the next season until he suffered what was basically a career ending injury.

Clark is already set for life. He coached more than twenty years in Alabama schools, so he qualifies for a defined pension indexed off of his average salary for the last four or five years. He's prolly pulling a steady $600k or so when he sits at home. His houses in town and at the lake are paid for. They've got a couple of grandchildren in B'ham.

RichRod was getting paid about a million, and Clark would probably be close to that. All speculation of course, but it's very possible.

Should open up UNC for Matt Campbell and if UNC was smart they would pursue him aggressively.

Not saying it isn't a step up, but for discussion purposes, is UNC a better job than Iowa State?

Campbell is basically a God in Ames and seems to have an easier shot at the CFP at Iowa State than he would at North Carolina.

The downside, obviously, is having to live in Ames vs. Chapel Hill.
