Easier shot at CFP is debatable. The Big XII and ACC are pretty even in toughness and even the Big XII seems to be aspiring to be a better football conference than the ACC, which just had an American Confernce team come in and blast teams right and left in year one.

Otherwise UNC has the resources to do more in football if they want to. Normally they are pretty lazy about that, but they CAN do it and be a bigger player and Campbell has the cache to demand that of them. I think the days of the Tar Heels being a basketball powerhouse are on hold right now, so the opportunity is there. Plus UNC is going to be the jewel of the next conference expansion.

More than anything, I think Campbell has experienced Iowa State's ceiling as a program. He's a great coach and on Saturday he just got dragged by a team with much better athletes than what he can get to go to Iowa State. He squeezes so much out of that program, just to see Arizona State, with a second-year head coach, overwhelm his team with better players. He can get better players at UNC.

 

Whatever final form the Big 10 and SEC take, Iowa State won’t be in the club. Carolina very likely will be.

The Belicheck to UNC rumors just won't die and apparently that's because the Board of Trustees president is the one driving it.

What a clusterf*ck this is gonna be. I am so tired of the trustees and the UNC System Board of Governors interfering in the day-to-day operations of the university.

What about Clark Lea for UNC? Vandy and UNC are very similar on academics and UNC has a higher ceiling.

 

Great name. I’m surprised it hasn’t been mentioned. Makes me suspect he’s not interested.

 

If I’m Belichick’s girlfriend, I would be VERY concerned about the UNC rumors.

 

I get the sense Clark Lea really wants to make his hometown team a winner and I believe he’ll be paid handsomely to do just that. Vanderbilt finally has an administration that cares about sports. Unfortunately.
