    Absolutely spot-on. Couldn't agree more.

Your team = my team, and I feel the same. All I really want from a season is for my team to beat its two rivals and compete in a bowl game as if the players want to be there. I don't give a damn who wins the national champion (although, obviously, I don't want my team to lose in the postseason here).

It used to be, EVERY WEEK was a playoff. Yeah, you could lose a game, but it better be early in the season. Now, it's college basketball lite. Lose a game or two ... or maybe three ... and you still have a chance to win the championship.

Your Heisman finalists are Travis Hunter, Dillon Gabriel, Ashton Jeanty and Cam Ward.
Only three running backs have won it this century, with Derrick Henry (2015) being the last.

Hunter, Jeanty among Heisman Trophy finalists

I have favored Jeanty winning it all season. He’s damn good. But even with my anti-Prime bias I have to admit that Travis Hunter is other-worldly and will be a deserving winner. I’d expect third place to be a speck in the rear view mirror

If there ever was a year for a non-QB to win the Heisman, it’s this year.

I'd really like to see Jeanty get it. It's a pity he has to share the stage with Travis Hunter, because that guy's a unicorn. Nobody does what he does.

I love the first-round games at the schools.
For everything that ESPN and the NCAA and everyone else involved has completely botched this in the past, I think this works.

If Hunter doesn’t win it, there should be an investigation.

Along those lines, what is everybody's favorite day of March Madness? The final Monday when a NATIONAL CHAMPION is decided? No, it's the first round when more than half the games are blowouts --- because there will be 5-6 upsets than fans of the lesser schools will always remember and we get to see maybe 1-2 of Duke/UNC/Kentucky/Kansas/UConn get bounced early.

Because that's what college sports are about, despite attempts to turn it into NFL-lite.

I love CFB more than pretty much any other sport but even with one of my two teams involved, I’m thinking the playoffs now are about 1 game too many.

Agreed, Tiger. I am in a big picks pool for money every year with the same group of family and friends, and I was looking through the list of games last night. It was borderline exhausting.

Four first round games is exhausting?

No, was talking about the total of 47 bowl games. Read past the reference to "playoffs" in that post.
