How does this cup thing affect the regular-season schedule? I mean, some teams are playing further in this, so do they just have games added to the 82? I just don't understand how all of this is supposed to work. Logistics.

The championship is the only one that doesn't count as part of the 82 games. For the knockout round they move games deeper in the schedule up to use as part of the 82

I like the cup … especially since the Bucks seem to be good at it.

This bright red court in Houston ... is greyscale still an option?

Defense optional by the bay tonight. Luka's having a day.

And now, I am quite excited for the opportunity to ignore three all-star games rather than one.

One game has the potential to be competitive as the Rising Stars may look to make their mark and the oldheads playing against them won't want to be shown up. The 40-point cap keeps things moving and is a not-so-subtle way of saying, "C'mon, you'll only have to try for a little bit..."

Vaguely similar to what the NHL does now. I love hockey. I give zero shits about the all-star game. Same goes with basketball. Baseball's really the only one I watch, and that's because it's in the middle of the summer and nothing else is on.

The 1960 All=Star Game was the first NBA game I ever saw. I was 10. East had Wilt and Russell on the floor at the same time. They won. The reason the game mattered back then was that it was a big draw. It was a sellout when regular season sellouts were rare indeed. Also, any extra money was a big deal for players of that era.

What is the over/under on when LeBron gets drafted. 17?
