Because I had Google searched their team a couple times, their results now sometimes show up on the nebulous sludgy news area of my phone. Last I heard, he was benching the team's best player to send a message about how to play the game the right way, which is like 1980s and 1990s high school basketball bullshit. Maybe he'll try to outlaw dunking next, so that the team will really focus more on fundamentals.

Finally tuning in for a college B-ball game … and of course it’s Iowa State at Iowa. Entertaining game so far, played at the wide-open pace the Hawkeyes need to overcome their lack of inside game.

Nice to see a couple Quad-Cities kids wearing black and yellow.

Also, that Iowa State coach has been hitting the gym. Looks more like a football or wrestling coach!

I have a feeling Virginia will go from being hated to being ignored entirely. The contempt developed because they were both very boring and very successful. The dismissal -- the result of impending irrelevance -- will be far more justified than the contempt ever was.

 

Maybe this should go on the Commercials That Get On Your Nerves thread, but that B1G promo that shows a distorted continental U.S. in an attempt to show Rutgers (and now UCLA) are part of the Big Ten’s territory?

The “I wanna live forever” song is especially grating. It’s even worse than the One Shining Moment pile of vomit. But at least that only gets spewed out once a year.
