The sixth-lowest attendance in FBS this year at 12,162 per game. And that was a nearly 30 percent increase from 2023 when they had a shade under 9500 a game for the third-lowest attendance. Gotta love that ND victory bump!

This makes no sense for any party involved, especially the Valley. Enjoy that 349 KenPom rating fellas!

As long as they're out of UAB's conference it's all good. I've been putting up with it for twenty years or better.

They'll walk in and assure Boise State that Memphis is a much bigger deal, and they are lucky to be in the same conference.

I’m sure Wazzu and Oregon State will happily oblige and have no intention of playing queen bees in this new clique. Sure Jan.

NIU is the textbook definition of a commuter school. It was 30-plus years ago when I had friends there, and I’m sure it’s more so now as the outer Chicago suburbs have expanded closer to DeKalb.

And having attended a game at their football stadium, it’s a miserable experience. An absolute wind tunnel and brutally cold for those late-season night games.

The conference rules everyone agreed to when Gonzaga and the five teams came over from the MWC are pretty specific about equal revenue sharing.

Boise State is the one with the reputation for expecting preferential treatment.

Right. And so they aren’t going to be willing to put up with Boise’s diva tendencies, much less an arriviste from the Dirty South.

Don't take Memphis. Under any circumstances.

    Hey, I want NMSU.

The Big Ten took Rutgers, the Big 12 took UCF, the ACC took BC at one point, the SEC tolerates Vandy. Every league has to have someone finish in last place but is just damn glad to be there and is a good conference partner.

I'd rather they go get UNLV/UNR than NMSU.

I've always thought the SEC should import some weak sisters from various leagues - make the "cupcake Saturday" week conference games and boom you go to nine conference games. Easy peasy. You solve all of your problems at once. I'm sure the weak sisters would take less than the standard cut as long as it was more than they'd get elsewhere. Of course you make these teams play Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee and LSU EVERY year, just to keep your big dogs happy.

Sadly true. My issue with MACaction is that the MAC was a damn good hoops league in the 90s, but they cut commitment to hoops to pursue horseshit Tuesday night games on ESPN that made the MAC a punch line.

Northern Illinois, if they join the MVC, will have a lot of improvement to make in hoops.

Been a regular punching bag for MVC teams for at least a decade or so. Having been to DeKalb for hoops .:. it was, um, emotional?

They would be better additions, for sure. But the Pac-12 and MWC need to make peace, not start another war.
