What's the Wordle?!

Did it in five. I tried working backwards, eliminating the possibilities for the last letter after my first guess left me with the penultimate. After that, burned a guess eliminating more letters and according to the bot, I was down to two after that. I guessed both.

 

I didn't get it. I had 3 possible words left and chose poorly.

Got it in 5. I had the third and fourth letter after three guesses, then burned the fourth guess using a letter that I knew already wasn’t in it just to try to eliminate a couple other letters, and got the last letter.

Then it was some random guessing until I came up with the word.

 

I’ve never tried a Wordle puzzle, but your post has me wondering: Is the solving process similar to the old 1970s game Master Mind?

 

Very yes but mastermind had limited options and could be brute forced. This is harder to brute force but the concept is the same.

 

Another day, another Wordle Alert. 52 game streak is toast. Too many possibles, and I chose wrong. The answer was in my head as well but felt there were other words I could use to eliminate other possibles. Apparently not. Really should have checked the previous answer list.

I got it in four. Burned my third guess to eliminate letters and got the first letter to effectively have _ from it.

Meanwhile, NYT apparently wants a shit ton of people playing stands today…
