But colleges have been churning out progressives who have ruined the media.

When I opened a PayPal savings account not long ago, I made sure it was FDIC insured. I'm sure there's been some not-great watchdog work with big banks but those four letters still matter with all the others. My eyes have glazed over at a lot of the stuff Trump and his band of doofuses propose doing, but this one is a Hell No.

The difference is, this time, they're donating to a known POS would-be dictator who wants to destroy our country and represents nothing good in it or about it. They are enabling him, extravagantly, and sickeningly, when their bottomless load of money could be well-used in SO many others ways, and for so many other less-reprehensible purposes.

You would accept eliminating the FDIC? If so, why?

Oh absolutely agree. But it is always a hoot to see the rich and powerful having to kowtow in order to do business. The NBA and China, the US and various bad actors over the years throughout the world and now the top 1 percent. Makes all of their claims wanting to "do good" moot. Seems like just yesterday an endorsement of Harris would make the WaPo look "biased" - but a $1m for the victory party for Trump? Here you go.

IIRC, BofA was doing fine. Were one of the first kicking the tires of Lehman before passing on that turd, then eventually bought a stake in Merrill Lynch.

To be clear, I “accept” none of what this administration is about to do. I also don’t think for a second they’ll eliminate the FDIC. I’m just saying that on the list of things that send my outrage-o-meter spinning, I’ve seen enough failed attempts to regulate the financial sector that I’m ready to give up on worrying about that.

I'm trying to figure out the best stocks to buy anticipating Trump 2.0 not going well. Of course Trump allied stocks are surging - Tesla etc., but which ones are the ones that you can buy for a good price now that will surge once things don't go quite the way Trumpers hope. More vaccine stock? Buy gold? Short everything?

Honestly … short Tesla. Maybe a lot of others, too, but especially Tesla. I feel like the whole economic house of cards is about to collapse and would have no matter who won the election.
