I would prefer that to permanent DST, which is probably the direction he would take it. That is what I always hear vox populi asking for, because they just think “woo, more sunlight!” without wondering what the tradeoff is.

 

if you ditch DST, then we lose 8 pm sunsets here in the summer. That would piss me off to no end.

 

And result in 8-9 am sunrises in the winter.

 

We already are on standard time in the winter. You are thinking of what happens if we switch to year-round daylight saving time.
