    My sense was that Trump thought that a lot more than the Democrats did.

    Democrats trusted, too much, that people were not going to be idiots, and they got proven horribly wrong.

    I have to think Congress could establish a bi-partisan Inaugural Committee - I know the group already exists to deal with the pomp and bullshit - but also open an account to allow corporations to donate $1 m or whatever to the fund ahead of the election so they don't look so shameless doing it after the election. The money would be turned over to the winner regardless.
    They could always get on their knees after the election if they choose to.
