Times change. Pro athletes of yesteryear got regular jobs over offseasons too before sports became big business.

    Careers ruined?

Like those guys could have won more games or had better stats if they had been getting paid (which some of them probably were anyway?)? What part of Tim Tebow's career got ruined?

And I'd be a millionaire if I'd have bought Apple when it was $1 a share or something.

All four of those guys were first-round NFL draft picks who made millions playing professional football. Bush and Cam both had nice, long careers that should have set them up for life.
Tebow is still raking in money on the speaking circuit and I think has (or did have) a steady gig as an ESPN analyst. He might not have gotten his money for winning the Heisman on the front end, but he sure has gotten it on the back end.
And it didn't matter how much money Manziel had, he probably would've burned through it.
That's not exactly a good selection for the Four Horsemen of the NIL Apocalypse.

Newton doesn't do the Nissan Heisman House commercials. Is that because they don't pay him or he just doesn't wanna, or do not all of the Heisman winners do them? Or maybe they don't wanna put up with his idiotic hats and bow ties?

I'm always reminded of a line Ted Robinson used on a 49ers game once, and I'm paraphrasing, "Reggie Bush has been a pro for five years, the last three with the Saints."

I don't think a couple of the recent ones, like Burrow and Jameis, have been in them

Does he have the same sympathies for pot dealers and bookies?

I don't think the NFL wants active players in a college football-centric commercial.

Football players do ads for everything else under the sun. As long as it isn’t a casino, cannabis dispensary or something along those lines I doubt the shield gets a say in the matter.

(Originally I said Derrick Henry was in them but I mixed him up with Mark Ingram. But Jayden Daniels is in one this year.

Then logic suggests that Nissan uses more Heisman winners in the age range they want to see buying Nissans.

Always made me laugh with Kia sponsored NBA events. I could be wrong, but I don't think there are any NBA players who drive a Kia. (IYKYK -- The Kia is for jumping over, not driving.)

There aren’t that many NBA players who could even fit in a Kia.
