Anyone else taking note of all the players being lost by the playoff teams to season ending injuries? Man, the Lions are decimated.

The NFL really is the new American pastime. Sixteen games over 17 weeks made everyone a shitton of money. Midweek Christmas games were unnecessary b/c the NBA already has that niche and the NFL was big enough without playing on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. But there was more money to be made and more people to squash, so it's 17 games over 18 weeks and midweek Christmas games for the fuck of it.

I know Jameis Winston was terrible against the Chiefs Sunday, but what sense does it make to bench him for Dorian Thompson-Robinson? Winston is erratic. The stinkers are going to happen. He is still by far their best chance to win either of their remaining games. Seems like tanking to me.

Winston is scum but he should play every week for someone b/c he's endlessly entertaining as a QB, even when he stinks. That MNF game a few weeks ago was the most fun sporting event I've watched in ages.

My understanding is they can’t do Fridays and Saturdays when there is a regularly scheduled high school or college football game within a certain radius of the home stadium. So Thursday would work. If they want Friday and Saturday it would either need to be international games or hope for some geographical oddity like the Seahawks being able to play because U Dub and the nearby Division III schools are on the road.

Much like the new/old regime ruining America, they will do whatever the fuck they want because they can.

Looking at that schedule with the hope something could be flexed into SNL to spare a hurting nation from the Cowboys, and finding nothing.

San Fran-Miami was the natural choice a couple of weeks ago before the 49ers went into the tank.
