A solid 6, the same number of strikeouts Stanton and Bellinger will combine for three or four games a week.

See, you guys have all of the wife takes and I was blown away that Ike Davis was Ron Davis's son, something I somehow didn't know. What does that say about me?

The only reason to not hate the deal now is that they gave up zero to get him. If he kicks ass and opts out of the deal you come out way ahead.

I was pretty sure when Ike Davis had his breakout season with the Mets, he would anchor that infield for a decade.

    He did not.

That was such a Mets thing to happen. Poor guy has a great rookie year, seems to be the type who can handle New York and then he gets a rare illness that saps his strength and basically tanks his career (though I forgot he had his 32-homer season post-Valley Fever).

    Arenado nixes trade to Astros:

Cardinals’ Nolan Arenado nixes trade to Astros, for now

Is he simply holding out for $$ to waive his no-trade? I get that St. L is a baseball mecca but they're in rebuild mode. I would think Hou was be a great place to go to, growing city and they are trying to win now.

Exactly. They gave up a 30-year-old pitcher with 24 games to his name.

I’d like to take Clay’s bat to that apostrophe.

Are they really trying to win? They would be adding him as a worse option at the position than they just had and traded one of their top bats for nothing that will help them in the short term.

It's a bit of a bummer that Arenado is turning into a vagabond at the end of his career. Rockies really fucked that up.

Based on his time in St. Louis, it looks like they got out at the right time. In four years he did have the best season of his career but the other three are worse than anything he did in Colorado, he's about to be 34 and they'd have to pay him for three more years
