I get that, except I'm foolish enough to watch to the end no matter what. I'd like to go to a game here and there, but even if I was still living in Pittsburgh, I'm not sure if I'd want season tickets.

We've discussed on here before that the in-person NFL experience is so, so, so not worth the high cost of tickets, concessions, parking, etc. Or the aggravation of other fans.

I have a friend who's been going to Seahawks games, usually one or two a year, for decades. He and his brother, sister-in-law and their daughter (grade school age) ponied up for tickets earlier this season. Supposedly the seats were in a "family friendly" section of the stadium.

Apparently "family friendly" meant it was easy for opposing fans to snatch up these tickets, because many of them were seated there. That would be fine, except these visiting fans (and some Seattle fans, I'm sure) were drunks, vaped, used vulgar language and several times got in the face of surrounding fans. Great experience for the hundreds of dollars each seat cost.

I've been to two NFL games in the last 20 years. Probably won't be back.

Seemed like all the fans in the story had San Diego ties. I can’t imagine how the powers that be thought those fans would accept being abused by their favorite sport.

Before the blessed divorce, I went to a lot of games with her uncle or cousin. Warm weather games were great, but the cold-ass games were brutal. I didn’t pay for their season tickets, so I had it easy.

I’ve paid for tickets once, when a group of us got to see the Chiefs beat Vick and the Falcons like 49-10 or 59-10 or whatever it was. Got so drunk my girlfriend had to drive home.

I get offered free tickets often because of my work, but attending a game at Met Life is just brutal in terms of the traffic. When I have stayed until the end of a close game, it typically takes over 90 minutes to get out of there.

I saw quite a few games in Three Rivers Stadium and I covered a few games in both stadiums, but I only went to Heinz Field twice as a fan.

I haven't been to a game in person since I moved away from Pittsburgh over 20 years ago. All I really remember is that they played the Bengals and some drunk idiot hit my car on the way out of the parking lot.

The only other time I saw a game at Heinz Field when I wasn't working was probably my favorite memory of a live sporting event. That was a playoff game against the Browns in Cleveland's first post-season appearance since they got the expansion team. The Steelers trailed by 17 in the third quarter and 13 in the fourth, but rallied to win on a touchdown run by Chris Fuamatu Ma'afala.

I went to a game at the old Giants Stadium and two hours later, we could still see the stadium in the rear view mirror. Never again.

Last live NFL game I attended was Eagles-Redskins at FedEx, probably sometime around 2003 or 2004. It's just not a pleasant experience. Just checked on prices for Sunday against the Eagles and it's north of $200 a person for any decent ticket. No thanks.

Quality story in the Athletic shitting on Woody Johnson this morning. I’m not sure there is anyone who actually likes him, not because he’s evil, but because he’s an incompetent.

The only and only time I've been to an NFL game was about a decade ago. Though I am a Chiefs fan and would love to see Mahomes in person, I am not sure I'll ever go to another NFL game. Granted the game I went to was the Seahawks and Niners. But I'll never forget looking a few seats over and seeing some drunk 20-somethings trying to get into it with an older man because he was asking them not to swear so much in front of him and his wife. This man was older enough to be the group of jerks grandpa. My friend and I thought, we'd have to go protect the couple, which is funny because I am not a big dude at all.

So yeah, as much as I wanna see Mahomes and Co., that one game cured me of really wanting to pony up the time and money to go to more NFL games.
