Is this from an actual, current story somewhere? Because I seem to remember them threatening to do this under the previous regime. Or maybe it was Facebook? Either way, I've seen this somewhere before.

11 Facts You Didn’t Know About Lake Tahoe

    1. Lake Tahoe is so deep (1,645 feet) that if the lake were tipped over, its water would cover all of California with 14 inches of water.

    2. It’s estimated that Lake Tahoe is 99.994% pure, making it one of the purest large lakes in the world – purer than most bottled water.

    3. Due to its clarity, objects are visible up to 70 feet deep in the lake’s clear waters.

    4. If all of Lake Tahoe’s water were drained, it would take over 700 years to refill naturally due to the low inflow rate.

    5. At its longest, the lake measures 22 miles across, making it the largest alpine lake in North America by volume.

    6. The lake never freezes, even in winter, because its enormous volume and constant movement regulate its temperature.

    7. Lake Tahoe was formed over 2 million years ago by geological faulting and volcanic activity, making it one of the oldest lakes in North America.

    8. A NASA study revealed that Lake Tahoe loses about a foot of water each year to evaporation – more than the amount it receives from precipitation.

    9. Tahoe has a small population of native Lahontan cutthroat trout, which were thought to be extinct in the lake for nearly a century until their reintroduction in recent years.

    10. There are still rumors of a “Tahoe Tessie,” a Loch Ness – like creature that some believe lives in the lake’s deep waters.

    11. Lake Tahoe sits on the California-Nevada border, with two-thirds of the lake in California and one-third in Nevada, making it a bi-state wonder with unique attractions on each side.

'Tahoe Tessie' sounds like a woman working out of a truck stop near Reno.

And you thought being in Boarding Group D for a Southwest flight was bad? Imagine being that far down the line in this horrible social experiment.
