As always, they post the 10 a.m. snow picture on Twitter and then bust their ass to clear it off before kickoff.

"Look at what we're not going to play in tonight!!"

I don’t question whether Indiana belonged in the field. We’ll get a blowout in the NFL playoffs, and I don’t immediately think, “Gee, they didn’t deserve to make it in.” Some teams are just better than others. They can’t all be classics.

He sure didn't look it in the SEC championship game. I expect ND to send everything but the kitchen sink to stop the run.

I don't know, $8m a year seems to be the going rate for coaches who go 8-4 in the BigTen. It might be a great landing spot for players buried on the Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State rosters wanting to get some playing time. And he's 63. Don't seem him going elsewhere.

I’m not sure they’re going to go 8-4 next season. And Michigan is going to want to beat him by 50 next season.

In all seriousness, Wink Martindale in the second half of that Michigan game pretty much exposed that Indiana offense and it showed in the Ohio State game and the Notre Dame game. It will be interesting to see what IU looks like without Rourke next season.

Of course there are blowouts in the NFL playoffs, but at least everyone knows the criteria and tiebreakers for qualifying.

The criteria for the CFP seems to change weekly.

Indiana's strength of schedule was seriously questioned. They had a great season but I questioned whether they were one of the 12 best teams and worthy of a playoff berth.

My sister-in-law, who’s a huge Doghead, would probably say the same thing. She’s been bitching about Beck all season.

Welp, that wasn't the game we were looking for in South Bend. IU was overmatched (it happens, they still belonged in the playoff) but sure did some timid sh*t too. Would love to know why every kickoff was fair-caught. Shoulda gone on fourth-and-4 deep instead of kicking to make it 14-3. And Cignetti after the game was way too proud of the window-dressing TDs at the end. That was just a shellacking.

Still a great trip though. I think ND fans are supreme doofuses but they make a helluva atmosphere. And it's a pure stadium experience without advertising or students doing stupid on-field games for prizes during timeouts (it's nice during timeouts when you can just roll out an endless line of former All-Americans to pump up the crowd).

I'm glad my IU kid got to experience such a Cinderella season and we talked on the drive home about how unique and unrepeatable it is. There's no way IU duplicates it next season with a tougher schedule and no longer being under the radar, then in seasons 3-4 we'll see if there's still mojo and if fans hang in.

you haven’t looked at their schedule then 8-4 is doable and it might a disappointment

there’s two for sure losses in Oregon and Penn State.

I think expectations are that Indiana is consistent middle-tier team, maybe beat an Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State once every three or four years, win most of the rest. Its worked for James Franklin, worked for Dantonio at Michigan State for a while.

SMU coach has to think he has little chance to try that on fourth-and-1.
