I date all the way back to the Bill Hess era with Cleve Bryant at QB. This is nice to see.

I found myself on the wrong side of a couple of Florida bets late in the season, so I watched a decent amount of the Gators down the stretch. They seemed to improve every week, which speaks well of Napier. Definitely not the same team that got stomped by Miami in September.

I have no idea why I remember this, but I can still recall a photo of a coach -- probably Bill Hess -- carrying an injured Cleve Bryant off the field slung over his shoulder.

Same here. Got burned betting against them vs. both Ole Miss and LSU, although I happily laid the points with them against Florida State.
I was certain Napier would be fired by Halloween considering how big of a trainwreck they were coming out of the gate and the SEC gauntlet they had to run. They pulled it together well, though, and it's not a stretch to say Napier did one of the better in-season coaching jobs in the SEC to pull that thing out of a tailspin, and not only save his job but generate some positive vibes heading into the offseason. I could see them being a factor in the SEC next season if they play like that all the way through.
