I remember picking up a date a while later, sitting there talking to her dad while I waited for her to come down. He said something about how Nixon had been done dirty, and I started asking very pointed questions. "How about when..." and "Did you know that...". It wasn't pretty. He kept saying things like "I didn't know that..." and "I never heard about that one." It was glorious. Undiplomatic, but glorious.
