It will be interesting to see how the playoff evolves.

This is obviously unexpected. Most of the other scores not so much. I think you'll start seeing more games like ASU-Texas than this one.

But so far the bye definitely hasn't been a reward. Part of that is also the stupid seeding system. It will be interesting to see if that corrects itself moving forward too, both the bye and the seeding.

Was Alabama No. 1 or 2 that year Clemson destroyed them in the championship game?

2013 national title game. No. 2 Alabama 42, No. 1 Notre Dame 14 is the closest off the top of my head.

Oregon should have come out in their maize and blue uniform combination.

1977 Texas. Ranked No. 1 and got trucked by Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl - 38-10.

    "Jesus was a refugee."

Tom Petty's lyrics stand the test of time.

1993 Sugar Bowl, less for the final (34-13 Bama) but the way everyone except one writer in Arizona had already picked out the parade route for the Hurricanes.

The 4D (or are they 5D) field cams add some quality visuals.

That guy voted them No. 1 all season, from start to finish. Gene Stallings won that one.
