Not golf. Not even Top Golf.

I watched most of it. The technology behind it is incredible. Personally, I despise hitting in a simulator. Marty Smith interviewing DJ Khaled was the only cringeworthy moment of the night.
Whoever the screaming individual is announcing the players needs to stop. Immediately.

I watched about half of it after work last night before I went to sleep. My beloved New York Golf Club was getting demolished, 6-0 at the turn. I’ll watch the rest tonight. Don’t spoil it!

I didn’t hate it. But I don’t think it’ll be a big draw once the novelty wears off. The tech is amazing.

I found myself thinking about wanting to play with the giant golf toy with my friends, rather than caring about what the pros were doing.

It was cruel to have Shane Lowry, a player I like, on a team with Wyndham Clark, a player I very much do not like.

I’m sure Tiger participating next week will draw some eyeballs. And the usual proclamations that he looks ready to win a couple of majors this year. I’ll watch with some curiosity.

This might be a sort-of preview of how Tiger could complete on the Champions Tour when he can take a cart.

Which he will be eligible for at the end of this year. Jesus, where does the time go?

    Watched some of it.

liked — the green and how it changed, the tech, fun vibe, something different, players w hot mic

dislike - the yelling announcer, the Khalid stuff, terrible camera angles and closeups, watching players hit on a simulator

It’ll change and morph and eventually die, but they all will get a ribbon for trying.

I think of Tiger's glory years a lot when pondering this. I can remember talking to a friend on the phone on some of those Sunday afternoons to relive whatever ridiculousness Tiger just pulled off. Jeez, who the hell talks on the phone anymore?

The presence of Tiger is indeed going to add some eyeballs, and really, this is great for him if he really wants to compete. The shotmaking without the torture and grind of walking 18.

I feel like when I call my kids or a friend, I have to preclude it by saying, "It's not an emergency", or "do you just have a minute?"

    I am almost apologetic.

Pacific Palisades being wiped off the map means the Genesis will be…odd, if held. Hopefully it will be cancelled.

Don't ever underestimate the tone-deafness of the PGA Tour, but yeah it's hard to see a golf tournament there in a month even if the golf course is spared.
