The Apple weather app seems to use the European model, which had us getting 11-13 inches of snow last week when in reality all we got was four inches, sleet and freezing rain, and a busted ancient water pump system.

    It's beyond tragic and horrific.

Meanwhile, the Snowmagedden in Arkansas has started. Getting home from the office was sketchy even in 4WD.

Holy shit that aerial video of the Palisades shows my cousin's school, somehow it looks like the building is still standing. Unreal, the rest of it looks like a war zone.

Ours is supposed to hit about 3 am. Predicted that we'll get winter mix that will stick, as nights have been in the 20's for days. They're predicting that it warms up around noon and it changes to just cold rain. With a little bit of luck that's all it is. If the temp stays below freezing all bets are off.

Good luck to all, stay warm.

Supposed to hit upstate SC around 7 am tomorrow. I’m taking the under. I suspect we will at best be mildly inconvenienced. I hope I’m right. I bought supplies today to make a beef stew, turkey chili, some pork tenderloin and a couple pasta dishes. We may be cold, but we won’t be hungry.

Old Man Winter is boning us hard. We got 6" (and then some) with more tonight. It's actually 33º but the snow came down harder than the roads could melt it, as I predicted. Very slushy now, but it will refreeze into black ice.

It's been snowing since around 11 am, so about six hours. We're up to almost five inches now. Local TV met just said new data is showing snow all night and not stopping until mid-morning. Also, if you know anybody traveling cross-country, I-40 is a parking lot in both directions in a couple of spots in the state.

How much do you get in a typical year?

Lots of wind and snow to east here. I-70 is closed from east Denver to the Kansas border and many other roads are closed.

Officials: 5,300 structures lost in Palisades fire.

4,000 to 5,000 structures lost or damaged in the Altadena fire.

    Good Lord.
