I doubt a newsroom would gather around, at this point, any Republican being inaugurated.

    1. Most journalists work very remotely now

    2. A Republican winning any office is a day mourning in most newsrooms larger than, I dunno, 4.

Pardon my poor grammar, but I’ll just repeat what I said out loud upon reading these words: “Ain’t no ‘we’ about this.”

What's so populist about Trump, anyway?

    3. Newsrooms no longer have TVs. Everyone watches everything on their phone.

Regarding all the glory glory Hallelujah music … the only song going through my head is by the late, great Steve Goodman:

Good night, America, how are you,
Don’t you know me, I’m your native son,
I’m the train they call the City of New Orleans,
I’ll be gone 500 miles when the day is done.

It just worked out that way. It was supposed to today at 11:47 a.m. but not everyone was in place. Trump was sworn in a minute after he became president at noon. Savannah Guthrie mentioned it on NBC.
