Crazy stat after Anaheim beat Montreal 3-2 on Sunday. From the OC Register: The Ducks moved to 21-0-2 when breaking the three-goal barrier this season, a stat that’s all the more staggering given that they’ve won a modest 22 games overall.
That stat has been out there since they were at about 13 wins. But you know what it means: They are 1-24-4 when they don't get three goals.
Ovechkin pots an empty netter with 0:00.1 left against the Panthers and is now 17 away from breaking the record.
Ducks now 2-24-4 after beating Dallas, 2-1, last night. Big game on national TV for goalie John Gibson, who is always the subject of trade rumors, mostly from the Eastern media, which knows nothing about Anaheim.
Last night's game was terrific as Canada beat Sweden in OT. Tonight, it was only a matter of time before the Americans took over and routed Finland (not over yet as I write this, but it seems inevitable).
I'm locked in, and I can't say I have been tuned in to much NHL this season outside of my main team. The international game is always so much fun to watch and this version with NHL rules and more chippiness is a lot of fun.
