I really thought the debate/"In Springfield, they're eating the dogs" debacle would be the last nail in the Mango Mussolini's coffin.

    I still have not recovered.

To be fair, when X company lays off X,XXX workers they typically don't know how great/valuable some of the employees may be at their jobs.

The United States government is not a goddamn company.

The Muskovites laid off everybody with a "probationary" status on their jobs. To them, that means they were new hires. But under the National Park Service system, if you get promoted or change parks you get a probationary tag as well. She had spent five years learning the upper Buffalo River. But since she'd changed titles - even though she was going to be doing the exact same work - she was laid off.

The thinking around, btw, is that since the only fee collector for the upper district was also cut that a big chunk of the Buffalo will be closed to visitors this year.

That is the ultimate question. I just don’t get it. I do know Trump is the greatest con artist in history. All those “kitchen table-issue” voters sure drank the kool-aid.

You're right. It's far MORE wasteful, because you can show $34 trillion in losses and no one blinks an eye.

I’m not at all saying there is no fraud or inefficiency or outright stupidity. The PPP program, for example, was rife with fraud and abuse. Fleecing the government goes back to at least Teapot Dome. Grifters from both parties have turned it into an art form.

But here’s the thing: When this bunch of chucklefucks is through with things, all you’re going to see is the downside, not the benefits. Your taxes aren’t going down. Your access to services will be curtailed, perhaps significantly.

Businesses should be run like businesses. Government, health care and education should not be run like businesses.

And these assholes aren’t trying to “make government more efficient.” They, like most executives, are trying to figure out how to funnel more of the money to themselves.
