I seriously would not put it past him to play soldier with real people.

 

And he will blame the Dems for forcing him into it. And his sheep will agree, even when their sons (because we don't want no women in no military) die.

 

He'd love to have his Teddy Roosevelt charging-up-the-hill moment. He'd probably drop dead during it, though.

Speaking of ... the Vatican announced Pope Francis has double pneumonia. If he dies, I wonder if the US contingent will find enough votes to put a far-right pontiff in his place.

That is a great question -- the question that begs an answer. Because Luit is right. There were many normal, average people -- some in my own family -- who voted for Trump.

The problem, though, is if you try to pin them down on why they did so, they can't give you specific reasons, or anything that makes sense. It's like they just made up their mind Biden was bad, usually based on nothing, and that change was needed, usually based on nothing.

The other problem is that this stuff literally cannot be discussed among people who voted oppositely. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to do it, with a couple of my brothers, and with my mother -- my wonderful, loving, otherwise on-the-ball mother! And, every time, when one of my brothers is involved, at least, it turns into an attack -- a loud-as-possible, in-your-face screaming match by a maniac -- by my brother against me. It is actually scary, and if anyone ever saw it, they would not think it was OK.

But it's the now-normal response, because of the totally split party lines, no matter what. The sides literally cannot come together and discuss ANYTHING, and, when it comes to voters, at least, I really believe it is because there is total ignorance (because Trump voters don't read, probably much like Trump) and no small amount of actual stupidity. And others, like my mom, were just drawn in by celebrity, name recognition and the fact that Trump just never went away, so they feel like they know him, when they don't, really. And they're good people who can't believe that Trump, our President, would really be anything else but likewise. They certainly don't want to believe otherwise.

Even yesterday, I'd taken my mom shopping, and she, like everyone else, of course, noticed the price of eggs: $7:92 a dozen. She couldn't believe it, and told me to put them back (which I did, even though she only had two eggs in the house). I commented, a little snidely, I'll admit, "Yeah, and it's only gonna get worse, because Trump's not going to do anything about it. He's worried about buying Greenland, instead."

And she responded just as I expected: "Oh, stop blaming everything on Trump."

This is what they do. They literally just don't know or understand, no matter what anybody tries to tell them or talk to them about.

Now, Republicans in Washington, I can't really speak for. Their capitulation to Trump is, in my mind, inexcusable and is our country's real problem, given that they should be up on the political issues, should have known their candidate, and should know and understand what's constitutionally right and wrong, and should be following those rules of law and objecting when Trump doesn't do so if they have any morals and ethics at all. And Democrats shouldn't be letting it happen, either.

The politicians are the problem, because they are the ones in the seats of government, but the whole country has swallowed up Trump's lies and rhetoric, hook, line and sinker, and it's inexplicable. It's like intelligence has just gone out the window.

 

Not to pick on your mom, but the "quit blaming everything on Trump" line after four years of people blaming everything on Biden can GTFO.

 

Ding, dong, the witch is dead...

 

Democrats are "letting it go" because they don't want to "go to prison."
