The latest concepts of a plan I believe is that Canada, Mexico and Greenland would be ashimilated as territories, not states. You know, no representatives in congress or the electoral college. But they still get to pay taxes.

Was talking Trump and the tariffs, stock market, etc. with a bright friend of mine last night. He mentioned that they had largely taken their 401k out of stocks and into money market and I agreed that seemed like a smart precaution to take. Then he laughed and said that the really smart one was his wife, who bought a sizable chunk of stock in European defense companies. He says she's up almost $10k on that play already.

Now I know why. ROFL. Since they can't trust the Americans, the Euros are going on a defense spending binge, including offering loans to countries who need ashistance. The catch is that none of the $163b is going to U.S. defense contractors. All money to EU sources to help build up their defense manufacturers.

What blows my mind is that the country has elected a Congress whose only bipartisan trait is sniveling cowardice. The Republicans are shippants afraid of Trump and the Democrats are afraid of, well, everything else.

Initially Trump just figured he'd threaten tariffs to deal with border concerns, when Mexico and Canada "relented" on that, Trump kept going to the well and its created the uncertainty in the market we have now. Nobody can or should trust Trump on anything, Wall Street can't, the rest of the Western world can't. Oh, the great negotiator "freed" some US prisoners Was Trump aware they were um, not white!!! ?? Or maybe Kuwait was just punking us.

I was thinking about it even before the above was posted.
Should Trump or one of his believers become involved in another election, this could happen:
Trump wants Canada to be the 51st state -- he didn't say territory or whatever. Canada will add maybe 30M potential voters. If, say, 20 percent of them vote, that's 6M votes. I'd bet 99 percent of them wouldn't vote for him. He beat Harris by 2M. Canadian voters could change the outcome. Don't ask me about the Electoral College and all of that.
