I did end up listening to this whole thing.

I'll give Bannon credit: He doesn't hide from the populism label.

Like all populism, it's based on, "When you dumb down the problem, all the solutions work and are easy!" He is also more up front with the "these changes we propose will cause short-term problems and pain," message.

I would like to see him pinned down on the Conservative label they still claim because the things MAGA suddenly loves are an anathema to what has been Conservative economic policy since the very start of the American Conservative movement.

Conservatives? Arguing for tariffs? Come on ...

 

Frankly, I'd love it if Canada became the 51st state, but it wouldn't take long for some Americans (namely MAGAs) to ruin it. Maybe Canada will annex the West Coast. That would be nice as well.
