That’s for Saturday. Another FU round of storms coming the day before that.

Red Flag warnings for DFW as gusts of 60 mph and stupid-low humidity come in from the southwest. These don't usually happen this far east. First one for the Metroplex since 2011.

We're bracing for big winds here. Already a bunch of fires down south.

Gusts up to 60 possible, which I have never seen in fair weather, even as windy as the Plains can get.

The dewpoint will be 28º tomorrow but the high today was 88º and the winds haven't even started.

If you don't get caught in an inferno or decide to hold a neighborhood BBQ, tomorrow might actually be a decent day to hang outside. Don't fly a kite, though, because it might be in Illinois tomorrow.

Yeah, I'm about to break out the extension ladder and clean my gutters. I had wanted to wait till my son could come help me, but a couple are pretty badly clogged, and this storm looks bad.

James Spann with his coat off and his sleeves rolled up bad.

I’ve barely ever been in the cellar of my house before. After work I’ll relocate a folding chair in there, make sure I can get a WiFi signal and leave the door unlocked so I’m not fumbling for keys if I have to make a break for it. Usually I’ll just get to the middle of the house and call it good but this is shaping up to be an all-time monster.

Ever since 2011, Spann has taken pains on his blog to calm people down by saying that April 27 was a generational event and while the weather may be bad it won’t be to that epic scale. This morning’s update has dropped that language.
