2024-25 College Basketball Thread

The PAC-12's induced coma means there is an extra at-large slot. And 68 teams is already four too many. So if your team still can't reach the promised land with those extra chances, I don't feel particularly sorry for you.
I think 68 is awkward because the First Four is odd. But I also think 36 At large bids was the perfect number. How often are there pashionate disagreements about who got left out? Rare these days. Seems like it's one half-hearted disagreement per year.

Going to be interesting to see who gets the latest two Dayton ashignments after Saint Francis & the SWAC winner. MEAC champ Norfolk State is a top-200 team in KenPom and traditionally very good, so the committee should spare them (plus, it allows them to say they're not racist), so it probably comes down to the Mount, American, & SIUE, Had Iona and Delaware won their titles, we'd already have the Dayton field set.
At least the AQ portion of Dayton.

I do feel for last year's Indiana State, which probably would have been a 10 seed this season.
At 28th, they have the highest NET ranking of any excluded team in the brief, five-tournament history of the system. And that distinction might hold up a while.

Mostly I agree, but teams in some conferences get 9 or 10 extra chances (Texas, Indiana, UNC, for three) while teams in others get one.

Florida looks really, really good. If I had to pick one team, it would be this Florida team. Just so deep and talented.
