If you think this is good news regarding cigars you are mistaken. The demand for Cubans will now skyrocket, with supply being fixed. Prices will increase not decrease as people that couldn't be bothered to find a way to get them begin buying them. Very bad news for cigars.

Good point. Will take a while for the market to adjust. What will be interesting is the fight for brand names and who owns the rights to use
the names like Romeo and Juliet or Cohiba

"Get there now before there are McDonalds signs on the sea wall."

I lived - very briefly - in the Prague of the early 1990s - when there were only three McDonalds in town. "Old timer" Americans would reminisce about when there were none.

Are we seeing the dawn of the next hip expat hangout?

It's been over 50 years, get over it. Batista loving ex-fascists in Miami, go back to Cuba or get over Castro already.

Man, that is such a great photo. Hard to use the word great because of what that poor kid was going through as it was taken, but great in the journalistic sense.

Exactly. There's a vocal minority of idiots in Miami who lost property in '58 and still believe the Bay of Pigs was just a bad first try and that we're going to go back and try again. They just need to get over it. Good to see Marco Rubio having conniptions, though.

Havana will play in the National League East with the Marlins. The first manager will be ________ .

Havana will join the NBA too, and Riley will be the first coach, then GM. He was always ahead of the curve going for the hotspots after leaving L.A. (on New York then Miami).

Havana -- which MacGregor calls "the next Paris, Prague and Berlin: all poets and saxophonists and favorable exchange rates" -- is the perfect ending for his basketball career.
