Career Fair is code for Internship Fair.

Also a term for rip off. Many of those at the fair aren't hiring. They are just collecting resumes.

Yeah, someone's gonna line their pockets with those $25 admissions. They'll get a ton of people.

I take note of the fact that TURNER isn't among the listed "employers" so far.

Yeah, I did this same thing three years ago, only then it was paying for a ticket to a Hawks game I didn't bother staying for (had a desk shift that night). Wound up being a big bag of nothing.

considering they no longer hold any stake in the Braves I'm not sure why it would be there.

Well, gee, Turner does employ some folks in the sports-media industry in Atlanta -- way more than the Thrashers and Storm, I would imagine.

if you pay the $25, do you have to pay for beer?

I went last year, great if your searching for an internship but at least last year they gave us a copy of John Schuerholz's book. I'd say only about 50 people went last year, so a far cry from tons of people.

Stupid question, but ... they're doing all this just to get interns?

No question is stupid if you don't know the answer JD. Many of these companies don't have any permanent positions available but they can afford an intern for the summer. Also, it doesn't hurt to collect resumes and see what talent the schools are or are not producing.
