After working for three dailies as a staff writer and columnist for a decade, I have been a full-time freelancer since 1987. I have contributed to most of the major dailies around the country. I have been an Associated Press stringer for 30 years and I have covered all of the mainstream sports and many niche sports. My specialty areas are professional cycling, the major golf tours and automotive topics. I have written the syndicated new car review column, The Weekly Driver, since 2004.
