Whitlock might, for saying that hip-hop is based on homosexual practices learned in prison.
I still haven't heard a solid answer to his claim that "sagging" is based on prisoners showing that they are available for action.

I don't know if anyone watches 30 Rock, but this last show was pretty damn funny and it hinged on race. The best part was when Tina Fey accidently shot Wayne Brady in the ass at the Source Awards and LL Cool J said they were making a mockery of the Source Awards and how he couldn't wait to hear Tupac's reaction and everyone goes silent. Then Baldwin says he didn't hear anything.

I think the irony circle will be complete when some gangsta rapper does a song about Whitlock and why he should be shot.

 

Yeah, I was a bit disturbed by that second AOL column. I liked the first one because it took a stand, even if it wasn't elaborately sourced, but the "facts" in the second, especially the ones you mention are highly suspect and, I think, should have been attributed to someone.

Let's be honest, does anyone believe the pants down thing came from a homosexual practice? I'm no expert, but as a white boy growing up in the burbs listening to NWA and Chuck D, my first recollection of seeing a rapper's undies was Marky Mark .. which of course doesn't mean he started it.

And retaliation shootings over homosexual relationships? That's a plot line right out of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas ...

 

Since Puff Daddy went from relative unknown to bigtime star by cashing in on Biggie's death, does that mean a copy editor will become a F'n Stud by cashing in on Whitlock's?

Of course, he does. He loves it. I thought his column was weak. But I will give it to him. He's a master promoter. Who else could get such a mediocre column talk about so much and for such a long time?

 

Ouch. That's poor (lack of) reporting and really amounts to taunting, which is relatively fine on this board but bad form to do it in the name of journalism in a national column.
