    I was at Germany-Korea.
    It was 116 degrees.
    Kid you not.

  2. My point exactly -- what was their justification for giving up corners by parrying? I assume it's because on 9 of 10 balls they catch, they drop? If you can catch, you catch. You're the only guy on the field who can use his hands -- take advantage of that courtesy.

U.S.-Romania was 110 degrees on the field. At the Rose Bowl.

Right now I'm just gearing up for this Sunday's Old Firm fixture. This will be followed by St. Patty's Day celebrations. Starting a day like this at the 7:30AM could result in two things:
    1) A messy ending.
    2) A very early ending.

They thought it was safer to parry or punch for a few reasons. Hard struck shots, I'd do the same. But on most headers, I felt comfortable catching the ball.

I developed a dangerous habit of knocking the ball straight down, almost like I was doing a basketball dribble, and then catching it on the bounce up. I never gave up a goal doing it, but my coach hated it.

  6. Chelsea 0 - Porto 1, hmmm, not a chance? We'll see in 45.

  7. Reds have had some good chances, but still even at nil in 74th minute.

  8. So much for that. Barcelona takes 1-0 lead in 75th minute.

2-1 Chelski, 3-2 aggregate in the 80th. Porto would advance with a 2-2 draw, but it ain't likely.

Man, that is weak. Punch somebody and run away? Gives soccer player a bad name.

    Carmelo Anthony says hi....

Yep Italian and Spanish football at it again and yet Uefa will only warn them about future conduct with a maximum of eur10k fine. Time the authorities stood up to these teams and threw them out of the competitions.
