I think the NBA regular season was very badly played, especially in the East. Golden State improved dramatically when they made a lopsided trade, and if you look at the run they made to make the playoffs, they could be considered a strong team.

If Baron stays healthy next season, and the rest of them stay out of trouble, they could grow greatly from this.

  2. Or not. This is the first time in 50 years (I think I heard someone say) that the previous seasons finalists went out in the first round. So when the talking heads mention the Mavs, the Heat will probably be brought up, too.

Sorry, but you're wrong. Dirk choked. The guy is one of the five most talented players in the entire league and he vanished throughout the series and especially when the season was slipping away tonight. He acted like he didn't want the ball and didn't know what to do with it when he got it. That wasn't the defense. That was a choke.

The Mavs won 67 games playing one way, but when faced with a team that barely sneaked into the playoffs, they panicked and altered their lineup and their game plan, which cost them. That's a choke. After falling behind in the series, they looked, acted, sounded and played like a defeated team. That's a choke. They quit in more than one game in the series. That's a choke.

Choking isn't only losing a big lead in the late going. Choking is a clearly superior -- or even simply competitive -- team failing to play anywhere near its capability in a tough, pressurized situation merely because of its own mental and/or emotional breakdowns.

Call it what you want. The Mavs choked.

Yeah, but because an adage is a traditional saying, it was redundant of him to use "old" before it.

    YEAH......BUT!

Dallas was favored to Win it all. The Heat wasn't. Especially since DWade got injured. The Stink of losing is definitely gone from Miami - Trust!

Dallas will have to endure another year of over- scrutiny and poor Dirk will get Clobbered for life.

My life is going to hell. I'm so depressed.

I was on top of the world three weeks ago. The MVP in my pocket, a ring in sight. Now, I'm a worthless piece of crap. An overrated European has-been. Please David Stern, don't let them give me the trophy. Give it to Nash. Anyone but me.

I'm so worthless. I heard my grand-dad wasn't in the Third Reich, a proud general. He was rejected by Hitler as being gutless. Then, to make matters worse, the Allied forces dressed him in an apron and made him an object of scorn at Munich soldier stops. What kind of man am I? Oh my God, I need a drink.

I can't wait until your MVP trophy presentation night, Dirk.

Also can't wait to hear all the people who voted for you try to defend their votes

  10. Rok, you do realize that the MVP vote is based on the regular season, right?

Dirk sucked giant donkey balls against Golden State, but nobody has to defend voting him MVP.

Oh, yeah, I know it's based on the regular season.

It's just going to be funny to see those who have come out and said they voted for Dirk try to stand firm in the midst of this hurricane of futility. Admittedly, the storm came in the postseason, but the stain it leaves on Dirk's MVP, IMO, is going to be long-lasting. Just my take

  12. Hell, in a strange way, you could say this shows why he was the MVP. He plays like shit, they get destroyed.
