two in a row

So, how many times per year do y'all get two days off in a row?

I'm guessing, sans vacation, I get 8-10 doubles.

Not bitching, just wondering.

Call it a poll, of sorts.

 

It depends. "Slow" times of the year, usually Saturday/Sunday or Sunday/Monday. But more often than not, I'm completely fine with split days off.

 

Even as a manager, I used to take split days off because it worked better in my personal life. I pair them now, but the flexibility to separate them can help from both sides of the scheduling equation.

 

I'm usually Fri-Tues, with Wed/Thurs off. Don't ask me why, I don't make the schedule.

 

I have tonight (Sunday) and Monday off, so I kind of feel "normal" for a week.

That's why I brought it up.

Of course, I would absolutely loathe a 9-to-5 M-F job.

 

After two weekends off in a row, I think you'd learn to tolerate it. Weekends are nice to have. If your spouse doesn't work in the business, you'll not see him or her very much if you have split days.

 

I love having Wednesdays and Sundays off. Really. It's great.

What do you mean by this "two days off?"

 

Weekends and normal hours and happy hour are totally overrated.

But I've earned it!

 

Once in a while I get Sunday-Monday off, but it's usually Sunday and Wednesday.

I haven't had more than two days off in a row since July.

 

I'm scheduled off tomorrow and Tuesday.

Tomorrow I'll be covering a state quarterfinal baseball game on the road (about two hours away). Tuesday I'll be at a spring football practice shooting video and doing interviews.

That's how my typical days "off" go.
