I thought it took bronzed balls of steel for Tom Henke to pitch with glasses. Ed Sprague was my favorite baseball player who wasn't a Met. And poop is brown.

    Mr Beat,

Sprague ... that kid's the good high schooler in SoCal, right?

    YHS, etc

I believe so. He was like a middling Robin Ventura. Or a better Tim Bogar.

  4. The jays are cool and all guys (I really like this Manny Lee kid. He's a keeper) but what we really need in this town is a NFL team. I heard a rumour that there is a group that's already been put together that will bring a team here before the end of the decade. It's a lock.

God I hope so because I can't see the CFL lasting much longer.

Once we get a NFL team that will likely be it. I can't imagine basketball ever working in this city, so the NBA doesn't make any sense.

Well, what about that guy from the expansion year, Tim Johnson. You remember him, doncha? Won a buncha medals for bravery in Vietnam.

Shit. It's been gone for more than 20 years. I never knew. That makes me very sad....and feeling very, very old all of a sudden. :'(

    Mr J,

What are you talking about? They'll never pull that down. It's a landmark. Next thing you know you're gonna tell me they won't have freak shows at the Ex.

    YHS, etc

Bulova Tower was THE meeting place at the Ex for people hooking up, people who got separated during the day whatever. Good view of the Flyer too, along wiht the Wild Mouse, two of the scariest roller coasters anywhere. Not for the size or speed, more like the fact the thing could fall apart at any moment.

That is too funny! I can't believe the reference to Just Like Mom.A friend of my twin sister's went on the show (who lives in Ontario) and he put ketchup, and chips in his "wreck" of a dish. His mother sussed it out and presto, he won!!!

I am so surprised that people remember and watched the show. I was a "closet" fan. What a blast from Canadian television past. I am sure Fergie wants to relive those moments too. ;)

The group on this thread has a Trouble With Tracy thread in it somewhere. Maybe our doorman friend has seen it on the TV above the bar at the Shamrock.
