Cam, thanks for the kind words, and suggestion. I'll keep that in mind this winter.

Last one for the day. Did a story a few years back about semi-pro ball in these parts. Old guy is one of the few remaining players still alive. The boy is the son of a former Red Sox pitcher, and is one of the town's top pitchers (only a freshman). So I had the kid wear the uniform the old guy used to wear in the 50's. Cut them out and placed them atop a black and white photo of the field the semi-pro team played on.

  6. Along with everything else, I really like that this shot glorifies the dirty work that it takes to win.
Some coaches say the midrange jumpshot is a lost art because kids only see dunks and three-pointers on highlights.
If there is any truth to that argument, this shot is good societally as well as aesthetically.

ADOkie, thanks. With so much feedback to that one shot, perhaps I'll enter it in a contest.

Here's one from 2 football seasons ago. Local hicks from the sticks play Catholic Memorial from West Roxy, Mass., and is driving for the go-ahead score in the 4th before getting held at the goal line. CM busts a 75-yard run on its next play to go up 14-6, and that's how it ends. Local boys almost beat Godzilla. Great to (almost) see that. One of the after-emotions ...

2006 NH-Vt. Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl. Kid lunges for TD.

Here's a couple of images that are among my personal favorites.

Peak action! I've always thought this was one of my best football photos.

You don't see too many same team pitcher catcher collisions. The were both going for a bunted ball.

    From a toughman competition.

Ahh...shooting in inclement weather. I punched a hole in my shutter during this game because of the gloves I was wearing when I changed the film roll.

2nd base slide photos are a dime a dozen, but again, I like the peak action on this photo.

Sometimes you have to take a wider view. A bit artsy, but it works I think.

One of my favorite portraits. Perhaps cliched, but still I like it.

Not the best football photo, but what I like about it is the moment-quarterback getting sacked, desperately shoveling the ball off to a teammate.
