Echo that. Vince Carter couldn't sniff an of the above three's jocks.
    Period.
    End of sentence.
To argue otherwise shows one's complete and total ignorance of the game.

And that's a sad state of affairs, right up there with that idiot Vince Coleman not knowing shit about Jackie Robinson. If you people don't have any idea of who Connie Hawkins, Elgin Baylor, etc were, you're far from being a credit to your craft.
Read some books. Get your information from other sources than Sports Center.

    For the all-name team: "The Chocolate Thunder-flying, Robinzine-crying, teeth-shaking, glass-breaking, rump-roasting, bun-toasting, wham-bam-I-am jam."

what is all of your preferred terms for a dunk on someone...

    "nuts in the mouth"
    "facial"
    etc

When I was your age, "in your face" became, simply, "face." It would be a few years before I heard the genital versions becoming more common.

Hondo this is a side note. I knew Vince Coleman as a youngster in Jackstinkingville. He knew then, and knows now, who Jackie Robinson was.

Dr. J's dunk in the 1980 finals is the most beautiful one of all time.

And I can't stand Vince Carter, but I think he has no peer when it comes to the athleticism of the dunk, which is a huge portion of its appeal. I think there are a good half dozen guys in the league now who would have been considered one of the best of all time had they played in an earlier era (e.g. Kobe, McGrady, Nate Robinson, Jason Richardson, Dwight Howard, Gerald Green, Josh Smith, etc.). Lots of teams have nobodies (like Ronald Dupree of the Pistons) who could bring the house down if given the stage.

And I would always maintain Spud Webb merits 1A status in any discussion like this, at least when it comes to the dunk contest.

And Jordan is one of the alltime great dunkers, yet always overrated at the same time.

    That wasn't a dunk.

  9. My top five

    1. Doc
    2. Hawk
    3. Skywalker
    4. Nique
    5. Mike

Those top three guys gave young guys the courage to do some flashy things in mid-air that weren't thought to be possible (or wise) before. One of my favorite NBA Classic dunks (obviously because I wasn't born yet) was Doc's one hand crunch over Bill Walton in game six of the '77 finals. And a normally genteel Julius Erving slapped the ball in Walton's direction like "I don't think you want anymore of this, homeboy."

Took me 1 minute to find the exact quote, from multiple sources on google:

"I don't know nothing about no Jackie Robinson" Coleman said in 1991. Responding to Coleman, Rachel Robinson, Jackie Robinson's widow said, "I hope somehow he'll learn and be embarrassed by his own ignorance."

Well then that quote is simply wrong, Hondo. For one thing I've learned from my time on this site is that boots knows everybody who's anybody from anywhere far better than anyone here. Just ask him.

Uh, Skywalker, as in Kenny "Sky" Walker? I don't think so. Dunk contest winner yeah, among the greatest dunkers ever? No way.

At least Vince Coleman knows how to throw dangerous fireworks at people.
