Biggest six-day newspapers?

Wondering what the biggest papers are out there that don't print a Saturday edition.

 

What about papers that don't put out a Sunday section?

 

It puts out a Saturday edition, but the last I knew, the Gwinnett Daily Post had something like a 65,000 circulation and didn't put out a Monday edition. Until about 10 years ago, it was Monday-Saturday; when it added a Sunday edition, it killed the Monday paper, an idea that doubtless seems appealing to anyone who's ever tried to fill an A-section on a Sunday.

 

Wall Street Journal puts out six editions, right?

USA Today, of course, is the largest five-day newspaper.

 

Seattle P-I. Sunday is combined with the Times.

 

Of course, there are other papers that don't publish a Monday edition ... don't forget them.

 

Detroit News doesn't put out a Sunday edition, part of the JOA with The Freep.

 

20K. We don't do Saturdays. We have tried and have been told repeatedly it wouldn't sell by advertisers.

Yeah, like Friday night football, NASCAR qualifying, saturday football preview, first round of golf, weekly TV schedule, etc., would be ignored by everyone.

So now we're like the AP: 6-10 inch prep FBAL gamers for Saturday online edition (which no one reads) and then 15-30 inch optionals for Sunday edition.

 

Rocky Mountain News doesn't have a Sunday section...

 

You watch. During the next five years, there are going to be more than a few newspapers dropping their Monday edition. It's said to be the least profitable, or money loser of the week, though I don't have figures.
