It's gotten so awkward only because you waited too damn long and talked to everyone about it except the one person you should have - HER. If you think nobody's told her about this, you're nuts. She can only conclude you must be damn insecure --and despite whatever "sensitive guy" Oprah type crap you might've been misled to believe, women do NOT dig insecure men. Even the most obnoxious jerks who are confident and decisive do better than the nicest guys with self-esteem/timidness issues.

You were in the same room, she smiled at you, why the fuck wouldn't you try to talk to her? Be a man who thinks and decides for himself, and quit following her little friends instructions--that's just a one-way ticket to the friend zone.

And the texting thing's bullshit. I keep seeing shit like this and that Miss South Carolina debacle that make me wonder if kids haven't become so dependent on communicating by text, email, etc. that it's stunted their ability to think on their feet and communicate in real time through their voice boxes.

 

Dude, I don't know about other service providers, but I can check my cell phone voicemail from any phone on the planet. I merely dial my number, and when the message starts either push 9 or #. I understand that overwhelming feeling of not knowing what to do when she walked in with another dude. But even I'm to the point now where I agree with everyone else and it's time to grow a set and get over yourself.

Would you rather be kicking yourself in the ass for not finding a way to ask her out and never knowing what she would have said, or kicking yourself in the ass for her saying no?

 

He's chosen this path. At this point, CR has resigned himself to failing on this one. I hope he learns his lesson down the line.

look man, im around the same age and understand what the hell your going through. What most people don't understand is that more technology actually makes this type of shit harder because some forms of contact are considered weird and too pushy if you do them too early. The text is good, but since you knew that her phone wasn't working you should have done facebook. Although because her phone was broken you sort of have an out, you can actually tell her when you see her out next time bring up phones and how much they suck and try to get a read on her phone situation at the time of the text... or facebook her a message saying "i just saw your phone isn't working, i sent you a text earlier, don't know if you got or not but i just thought i would say something after i saw your phone situation." or something like that. Don't let a hot chick get away man, seize the opening (between her legs).

 

That's nearly the exact message I'm sending tomorrow if she doesn't get back to me today, although "don't know if you got it or not," although true and necessary, is very pushy and uncomfortable if she did get it.


I appreciate everyone's advice, and should have expected the SJ Nation to be in kill mode by page seven, anyway.
