NFL QBs: Who is number 3, 4, 5?

Seems pretty clear that Peyton and Tom Brady are the top two QBs in the league right now, but who are the next three? I've never seen the position at a lower ebb in my lifetime. With Brett Favre, I'm guessing they're the only lock Hall of Famers in the league.

5. Marc Bulger

 

How you could put those three ahead of Carson Palmer is beyond me. I think he's a lock for 3.

For my money, Carson Palmer writes the best gamer. He never misses deadline, and is always clean. Whenever we need him to file running copy, he's crisp and interesting.

Drew Brees is a solid beat guy. Rarely gets beat. Works his corners. He'll break news, then come back with a decent feature for the weekend.

Lot of people think Matt Leinart is going to be an 'effin stud. Everyone I know is talking about all the narrative pieces he was churning out in college. He'll be at a major metro or a magazine within two years. If you don't believe me, you're a jealous hack.

On the other hand, I once sent Rex Grossman to cover a girl softball double header, and he misspelled the name of the coach, asked the star player for her digits, couldn't get his computer to work, spilled mustard on the keyboard, and forgot to keep stats. It was a disaster. Luckily, Devin Hester and Lance Briggs were working the desk, and they were able to bail him out for the umpteenth time.
